Features

This is a major feature in related subject guides. How useful could this be to Graphic Design students? I would say extremely. Here is an example below where you can begin your search.

Quote from ARTstor website:

"The Herb Lubalin Study Center of Design and Typography (part of The Cooper Union School of Art) will distribute high-quality digital images of modern graphic design in the ARTstor Digital Library. The Lubalin Center seeks to electronically preserve and disseminate material related to the history and theory of graphic design."

    About this Guide

This guide is geared primarily towards students and faculty involved in graphic design, typography, and illustration.

This website provides a guide to conducting research in Graphic Design studies, highlighting key resources. There are many special aspects to doing Graphic Design research, including:
    • important but unintuitive search terms using Academic Databases
    • techniques for finding various topics such as logos, typography, graphic novels, illustrations and design biographies and history

Through this website, I also recommend my personal favorites.

The guide focuses on strategies for finding books, article databases, lists of magazines, associations, user groups. I've also included on-line resources that pertain to learning how to use various graphic design software.
